Fifty years ago, Gill and I began our married life with a honeymoon in Paris. Now, we've had the wonderful opportunity to return, not just the two of us, but with our son and his family. This sentimental journey has been a beautiful way to reflect on the past and create new memories in a city that truly holds our hearts.

We treated ourselves to business class on the basis that the regret of not splashing out might haunt us to our deathbed.

Well nurse ....we got a bad case of FOMO after we went economy last time and had to do the peasant perp walk through business class with all the smug comfortable people staring at us in pity as we made our way to the sardine class cabin. Some of them even wore masks as if we might infect them with some lower class disorders like rickets or the plague.

Just once ..just once..we wanted to be the smug people nursing our pre takeoff glass of champagne as we edged away from the aisle in case a dirty backpack brushed against us.

Im pleased to report we have been provided with a little cabin with a door. Thus does not seal us hermetically but its a good start.

To be brutally honest I only just persuaded Gill to agree to thus egregious expenditure  by playing the cancer card.
